How time gets away from me....

I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted something. It seems I'm always at this computer so why the heck haven't I written anything? I think maybe it's because I lost my mojo somewhere. Although I have projects I still need to share here I haven't done anything lately. I want to but when I sit down to do something the drive to do it leaves. I haven't even been taking many pictures lately (gasp!). I guess I'm just in a funk. I did make a card the other day for my mom to send to my niece but I wasn't happy with it. It turned out ok just not one of my better ones. I also made one for my dad's birthday - I did like that one. He turned 78 on May 24th. Can you believe it, 78!?! I still can't get over it. Probably because he doesn't look his age. Granted, he looks older but he just doesn't look 78 to me. I'd post a picture but I don't have any recent ones of him at the moment. Going to have to fix that.

For those that are curious, my weight watchers stint is going pretty well. I've lost about 4 pounds so far. Not as much as I would like but it's a start. I'm feeling better and eating better so that's a plus. I know if I could get my lazy butt exercising I'd lose it faster. I did the wii fit for a while but it seems to take forever. It will take me an hour to do a half hour of exercise on that thing because it only counts the time you are actually exercising. Which is a good thing but not when you don't have or want to spend a lot of time exercising. If I find something I like I don't mind it but I haven't found anything as much as I loved my gazelle - I miss that thing.  After Kaylie was born we just didn't have the room for it. Let me tell you though, it was fun and it did not feel like you were working out. Only if we had more room.......

I can't believe that the end of school is so close. Tyler will be out on the 18th. He's going to be a third grader next fall! Ugh! Where did the time go?? And Kaylie man don't get me started. She is talking so much and so clear these days. I feel like I just had her. She can't be 2 and a half already.  Ok I'm not going to start on these things, too depressing. Going to enjoy the time while I have it.

I went to Tyler's school on Wednesday for the volunteer tea. Each year they do something different to honor the school volunteers. I was pretty active with the PTA and in Tyler's class this year so I went. It was great! A few of the classes read poems or sang songs for us then they had cookies, cupcakes and all kinds of goodies. Didn't see any tea though - hahaha. I did get the best gift ever though. Tyler's class all signed a card for me and I got a gift card to Micheal's inside. It was awesome. Can't wait to make it over to Micheal's now. Maybe Saturday for my birthday....hmmm......

Tomorrow is Field Day at Tyler's school. They have it every year. It's just a time when all the kids get to go out for half the day and participate in fun games and have a bbq lunch. Pete went with Tyler last year (and he took a lot of awesome photos for me!) but this year Tyler wants me to go. He says he always wants to go home when daddy goes but if I go I can stay there and help in his class after so he doesn't miss anything! So I guess I'll be going tomorrow.

I made some backpack goodie bags for some of his teachers that I'll be handing out tomorrow also. I love how they turned out and they were fun and easy to make.

I hope they enjoy them. I filled them with candy. I was trying to think of something else to put in them but of course I waited until the last minute to go looking and couldn't find anything that I liked. Oh well, can't go wrong with chocolate ;)

Other than that not much going on. I need to make a couple Father's Day cards which I'm hoping to get done this weekend but we'll see.

Oh before I forget here are the layouts I've done since my last post. Maybe I'll get something else done this weekend too if I can get out of this slump.

I'm still not done with that one above. Not sure but something is missing.....

The last one was done for a challenge over at Simply Obsessed. They are having a crop right now through the 15th. I know it's not much time left but you can still play. Let me tell you the talent there is awesome and inspiring!

I have some pictures I need to post from kids day last Saturday but I will post them later (give me something to write about).  Hopefully it won't be a month again between posts. I'm going to (try to) take a cue from Michelle Lanning and try to post something more often. She's actually doing it every day but I know that won't happen for me. My life just isn't that interesting. Maybe I can get one out weekly. Baby steps....You should really check out her blog though - she is super talented and very funny!

Time to catch up...

So I've been lagging in the blogging world, not really feeling it. I haven't even been on facebook but to change my status once in a while. I wish I could say I was accomplishing a lot not being on the computer much but sadly, that is not the case. I have been on the computer. Besides working I was trying to catch up with old episodes of Grey's Anatomy before the season finale happened last week. I know sad. What can I say, I got sucked in.

But not totally the fault of TV shows. We've all been sickies here. Tyler had it first, but thankfully shortlived. Then I got it, it went away, then it came back. I think I finally got over it. Then it hit Kaylie the worst. Fever, no appetite, sleepy...thank goodness no vomiting or the other end!

Pete is finally getting over it I think. Unfortunately my mom has it really bad now. Really hate the flu season (which never seems to end)!

Let's see besides being sick we surprised Tyler with tickets to see Walking with Dinosaurs on May 2nd. Yeah I can't believe I forgot it was National Scrapbook Day that day! Oh well I lived through it. And for all of you non crafty people, yes, it is a real day on the calendar ;) Ok back to the dinosaurs... it was awesome. I couldn't take pictures because they said flash wasn't allowed but I got a couple of Tyler and the stage before it started. And wouldn't you know it, people were taking pictures anyway! Really ticked me off that some people are just so incosiderate. Well I tried to get some video but it isn't as good as what you can see if you click the link above.

I highly recommend that if you have a chance to see this show - go see it. Mother's day was nice. I got a few things accomplished this last weekend which was nice. Friday I bought our tickets to California. We are going to visit the family there for 10 days. We'll be there from June 25th to July 5th. We have no plans other than just visiting and maybe take a trip to the coast. I'm getting excited and it got me motivated enough to loose some of the extra weight that miraculously appeared around my midsection! I basically just want to be able to fit into last years summer clothes so I don't have to buy new (and bigger sizes). If I happen to loose more in the process - then yeah for me! So I started back on Weight Watchers on Saturday. I kept all my stuff from when I went before so I'm just doing it myself at home. Since I know how it works I'm going to save myself the $12 weekly meeting fees. I am thinking about going in and see about getting an updated food companion though, mine is literally falling apart. I also got all the laundry done Saturday and put away - now that is an accomplishment in itself! Go me! Usually it gets washed but that's as far as it gets. Felt really good to get it all put away too. I so need to do that more often. Then Saturday night I scrapped for a bit. Got 2 layouts done (well one was done Sunday) but still.... Sunday was just a lazy day, I just kind of lounged around and did nothing - with the exception of a scrapbook page. It was nice though. Well that about sums up what's been happening since Easter. Hope all is well with everyone!

So I was getting bored with my banner and just the overall look of my blog so I decided it was time to update. Now I don't like it. Well I do, just not happy with the banner much. It didn't turn out quite the way I envisioned it in my head. Oh well, it's going to stay though because I'm not in the mood to make another one. Now onto updating my signature.......

Happy Belated Easter

I hope everyone had a nice Easter. Ours was good. We went to church with friends in the morning and then came home and laid around the house since the weather was terrible and rained all day.

Wait a minute, back up. Did you read that right? Pete went to church??

Yep he sure did and you know what? He even agreed to go back. Tyler and Kaylie had such a good time and want to keep going that he said we would do it. I have mixed feelings. Not about going to church really, that's a good thing. I just don't know where I stand about anything. A big reason is because I really don't know anything. My parents never went to church when we were younger (long story and it's not a bad thing). They raised me well and taught me good from bad and answered any questions I had, I just didn't ask many. I went to church with friends sometimes but never cared for it. I didn't like people preaching at me saying it had to be this way or that way. I don't think anything is black and white - especially these days. But I'm willing to give this a shot and see where it goes. There wasn't any pressure and they didn't seem to 'preach' but rather 'instruct' which I like. In case anyone is interested here is a link to where we went - www.newlifekitsap.com.

Yes you also read right that the weather was crummy. So needless to say I didn't get many good photos. I have 4 that actually turned out decent. So mom had an idea since the weather is supposed to do a 360 this coming weekend and be in the low 70's. I'm going to dress them up again in their outfits and take some more pictures. Well possibly - we'll see how things work out. At least I can get another wearing out of Kaylie's dress (good thing I got it on sale too).

Today is.....

my 8th anniversary. Yes I realize it is also St. Patrick's Day and no it was not planned. It just happened to be the only Saturday in 2001 that worked for us.  At least Pete can't ever tell me 'I forgot' ;)

Anyway I sit here today by myself as Pete is out of town working - again. He then leaves Sunday for 2 weeks to Kansas City for work. My mom was nice enough to watch the kids this last Friday so we could go out. We didn't do much but it was nice to get out by ourselves.

So in 'celebration' (hahaha) of our anniversary I thought I'd post some pictures from our wedding day. No I was not fat in these photos (well technically yes I was - 3 months pregnant). And just for the record, no we didn't get married because I was pregnant. We planned an October wedding but then found out we were having an October baby (who came early!) so we pushed the wedding up a bit.

I took pictures!

Granted they aren't the best. Not sure what's up but I didn't feel like re-takig them so here they are. You can click on the pictures to make them bigger if you need to. Also, keep in mind that not all of them are completely finished. I have some journaling yet to do but not sure what I want to say yet.

Recovering....

I've been meaning to post since I got back from my weekend retreat but it kicked my butt big time! In addition to the time change....let's just say I've been napping quite often ;). Anyway, I just wanted to add a quick update and say I had a blast and I so want to go to another one! Thanks to Sarah, AnnMarie, Johanna and Polly (just to name a few) - I had an awesome time. Good food, good friends (old and new) and lots of scrapping. I finished 10 layouts and altered a picture frame. I will post pictures later. I still need to take them. Told you, I've been rather lazy the last few days. I still haven't unpacked all my stuff yet (gasp!).

Well I better get going so I can get Tyler off to school and Kaylie breakfast. I have to work and then I will TRY to get pictures taken and post later.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

I'm so excited!!

 I get to go to my first weekend crop getaway. I can't wait! It's March 5th - 8th at Ft. Flagler State Park. I've never been there before so hopefully I won't get lost on the way - hahaha. Sarah is going too so it will be a lot of fun. She's been to a retreat before so she's going to show me the ropes ;). I can't believe Pete was ok with it. I mean he's going to have the kids to himself Thursday through Sunday (gasp!). I think this will be a first for both of us.

Let's see other news...oh yeah Simply Obsessed has a new blog. It's cool - you should go check it out. I also have a link for it under good stuff on the right hand side of my blog. Heather Arave is now the new owner and I'm excited to see what she has in store for everyone. I'll miss Jaime and Shauna but I'm sure Heather will do great!

Oh the Valentine's day treat boxes went over really well with Tyler's class. It really shocked me how the kids were so excited to get them. I honestly didn't think they'd care one way or the other but they were into them. Made me feel good. So glad I made them. Oh and his teachers loved their mailboxes. They thought they were so cute! Another 'yeah me' moment. :)

I've gotten addicted to the cricut message board now. Of course it's scrapbook related. I've been a member for a while just never taken the time to check it out. Now that I have I'm so addicted. The girls there really have a lot of great ideas and I've learned a lot already. They are also very good at enabling people to spend money - hahaha. We won't go there though ;)

I got another layout finished. I've been wanting to scrap this picture for a long time now and I finally found the papers I liked to go with it. Not sure I like the layout all that much but it's growing on me.

Well I think that is about it for now. I so can't wait to go to that crop. I'm even excited to start packing - hahaha. Can you tell I need to get out more?
